Jim Houser is a self-taught artist who paints at night when the rest of the world sleeps. In his work is a personal iconography of seemingly random words and images, inspired by a love of color, words, science, plants, animals, and people. His installations have grown to include hook rugs, painted shoes, basketballs, beads, fake potted plants, sketches on paper, and painted sculptures in wood, clay, and cast stone.
